The film tells four intertwined stories – different but subtly connected – which revolve around the life of an elder doctor who believes he can defeat the syndrome. A choral and touching story approaching the syndrome from various perspectives, exploring the disorientation of the detractors and the dexterity of the few “enlightened”, while showing portraits of families in crisis and denouncing a society still weak in dealing with diversities and kids’ pain.
Talented Rausy Giangaré, already seen in the homonymous short movie as well as many Italian mainstream Shows, will play the role of a young mother dealing with the burden of the child’s syndrome.
The talented protagonist of the short movie Maila De Vincenzi and the “Pandas Girl” Elena Micheli will be included in the cast list.
Auditions and casting sessions will start in June 2023.
By working on a play dealing with such a great issue, we know we run a risk. The short movie has already gained recognition, having achieved an Honorable Mention at the “Sound and Vision International Film & Technology Festival” in New York and entering the Official Selection at the Fellini Film Festival 2023.”
Filippo Feel Cavalca, director
“Since the early stages, we have investigated the experience of children and teenagers affected by Pandas/Pans Syndrome, thanks to the collaboration with parents committees in Italy and in the US and the knowledge of the very few specialized doctors who supervised the scripts”
Irene Russo, screenwriter
“By choosing Cinema as a media, we count on the support of people who care about the issue, so that the future goals can be accomplished as the past ones have been.”
